On October 4th 2021 an independent base oil supplier Neste from Finland announced the sale of its base oil business to Chevron Global Energy Inc. Neste is one the world’s biggest Group III producers that has a refinery in Porvoo with a capacity of 250’000 tons per year. Chevron Corporation is one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies. According to Neste’s press release, the transition is expected to be smooth for all the parties.
