Legion Oil & Gas LLC was mentioned in a recent Lubes’n’Greases article about Russian base oil exports. It was published in Lube Report EMEA – Lubes’n’Greases’s weekly overview of base oils market activity, pricing, and analysis.
In his article Russian Base Oils Rebound, Lubes’n’Greases’s author Boris Kamchev writes about Russia increasing its base oil production and exports.
Comparing to the first nine months of 2020, in the same period of 2021 Russia produced 14% more base oils. In the same period of time Russia exported 871,000 tons of base oils which is 24% more than from January till September 2020.
In July 2021 base oil exports decreased 12%. Legion Oil & Gas LLC’s Managing Director and base oil expert Denis Varaksin explained Lube Report that
“the July decrease was caused by the falling demand in the export destinations and higher domestic finished product prices.”
However, from July on the exports kept increasing.
